Eventship the Windflüchter

The large Müggelsee is at your feet. With a length of 36 meters and a width of 8 meters, the MS Windflüchter is one of the largest historical ships in Berlin and can be booked by you for events and much more.

Both its history and the unique construction with panoramic windows that allow a 360-degree view of the vastness of the lake, the mountains and the Müggelpark are fascinating. Check it out!

EVENT LOCATION WITH HISTORY

1896

1896 fand die größte und bekannteste Berliner Gewerbeausstellung vor den Toren Berlins im Treptower Park statt. Eigens hierfür wurden in den Stettiner Oderwerken zwei Doppelschraubendampfer in Auftrag gegeben, einer davon der Oberbürgermeister Zelle.

Als damals größter Dampfer der Flotte fuhr der Oberbürgermeister Zelle 1900 als Staatsyacht unter dem Namen Lubeca zur Eröffnung des Elbe-Trave-Kanals nach Lauenburg und hatte dabei sogar Kaiser Wilhelm II. mit an Bord.

1945

In 1945 the Lubeca was sunk during the fighting in Berlin after an artillery hit.

After a 10-year layover in the Steglitz harbor and in the Treptow Canal, the wreck was towed to the Teltow shipyard and rebuilt.
The twin-screw motor ship Lichterfelde, which is unique in its lines, was built here in 1960 and was first used on March 25, 1961.

2014

On January 20, 2014, the BVG ferry service between Kladow & Wannsee was discontinued, so that the MS Lichterfelde was now out of service ...

And this opportunity was favorable:
In April 2014, the MS Lichterfelde was bought by Strandhaus GmbH am Müggelsee, giving a long-standing vision the chance to become reality.

2015

In a construction time of just 9 months, planning, sweating, planing, crafting and hoping ...

And then the time had finally come: on July 10, 2015, our MS Windflüchter was officially opened.

Since then we have been able to celebrate numerous events on our ship. Thanks for the great support!
